YouTuber Couple Builds Ridiculously Massive DIY Gaming Laptop

Are you tired of your puny laptop screen? Want something a bit more…substantial? Look no further than the BFL (Big Fun Laptop), a DIY project created by YouTuber couple Evan and Katelyn. The BFL boasts a 43-inch LCD TV screen, making it one of the biggest “laptops” out there.

But how does it work, you ask? Well, the computing power is provided by an Intel NUC 11 with an i7-1165G7 processor and RTX 2060 dGPU, which is hidden under the keyboard together with three high-capacity batteries. Yes, you read that right, three batteries. One is powering the screen alone, a second one is for a mini PC plus peripherals, and the third one is for the LED strips. That’s some serious power.

To keep things at a reasonable thickness, Evan and Katelyn had to find pretty compact components and 3D-printed brackets to fix everything in place. The result is a laptop that’s about 4 inches thick, which is reasonable, but it weighs a whopping 100 lbs (45.35 kg). Good luck trying to take that thing on the go!

But hey, if you’re in the market for a DIY project that’s sure to turn heads, the BFL is definitely worth checking out. And who knows, maybe you’ll come up with an even crazier idea for your next build.
