As you explore the regions around the castle and beyond in Hogwarts Legacy, you will find many secrets. It appears that a hidden gem may be located almost anywhere. Clementine Willardsey is curious about where the butterflies located around the lands would lead you, but she is too terrified to go looking for them. Maybe you’re bold enough to pursue them through the woods. This guide will walk you through the completion of Hogwarts Legacy’s Follow the Butterflies.
What are the Butterfly Trails in Hogwarts Legacy for?
Clementine Willardsey will be standing around The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade the first time you see her. When you speak with her, she will say that there are butterflies flying near the Forbidden Forest’s entrance. When you get in the Forbidden Forest after hearing about this, you will notice a big number of butterflies flying about an area near the entrance.
When you approach the butterflies, they will begin to fly away from you. Keep a tight eye on them or they will vanish. If you follow the butterflies long enough, they will lead you to a treasure trove. Treasure boxes obtained in this manner will not appear under normal conditions; instead, you must follow the butterflies to find them. When the chest emerges, open it and bring it back to Clementine. She will express her gratitude for your bravery, and the mission will be finished.
The Butterfly Trail mechanism is introduced in this quest. After finishing this quest, you will be able to spot groups of butterflies everywhere across Hogsfield, including the castle grounds. Simply approach them and follow them to the prize they point out. Butterfly Trails may be found by looking for the butterfly icon on the minimap. This is similar to other tasks in the game, such as the Moth to a Frame quest, which teaches you how to interact with the Moth Frames scattered about the area.
