Apex Legends players who have chosen Revenant as their main character may be in for a surprise in Season 17. While the synthetic nightmare has a lot of utility and a lot of players who appreciate his skill set, many fans will acknowledge that the legend has been in need of a makeover for a while. Rumor has it that Revenant will be reworked as Revenant Reborn in the near future, with a modification to his ultimate to make it more valuable to the team.
According to speculations, this Revenant Reborn tale completely replaces the normal Revenant. It is said to have a fully redesigned ultimate that allows the legend to engage in a one-on-one void fight to the death with any adversary that it strikes. It’s unclear whether this adjustment will be implemented in Season 17, or whether it will have to wait until later seasons.
Fans have also questioned on whether or not this is a genuine update to the synthetic assassin. Some speculate that this is simply a placeholder for an altogether new character that has yet to surface in internal game builds.
Another possibility is that this is a stand-in for the Apex Legends Mobile character Fade. This concept stems from the fact that many of Fade’s powers involve phasing himself and adversaries in various scenarios. His ultimate, Phase Chamber, resembles the new ultimate expected to be handed to Revenant Reborn.
Season 17 of Apex Legends is still in the works. Season 16 began in February, bringing various improvements and nerfs to the game while ignoring certain fan complaints. Revenant players can only wait and see whether the rumors are accurate, while also enjoying the present incarnation while it lasts.
