Metroid fans are ecstatic about recent news about the series. Players can now enjoy one of the most acclaimed Metroid games on the Switch thanks to the release of Metroid Prime Remaster, but Nintendo isn’t done yet, with more Metroid titles on the way. While no new information on the fabled Metroid Prime 4 has been released, Nintendo has given series fans a pleasant bonus to go along with Prime Remaster; the popular GameBoy Advance game, Metroid Fusion, is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online next week.
Metroid Fusion’s release on Switch couldn’t come at a better time. Nintendo recently revealed that GameBoy Advance titles would be available on the Nintendo Switch Online later this year. Fusion is also a sequel to Metroid Prime, as both titles were published around the same time. With the Prime Remaster now available, a Fusion re-release shortly after makes logical.
The SA-X, an unstoppable X mimicking Samus, is on the loose, and it could be just around the corner…

On March 9, Metroid Fusion will be accessible solely to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack users. The game is a straight sequel to Super Metroid, with Samus afflicted by a lethal X parasite. To combat the infection, she transforms into a Metroid hybrid and becomes trapped on a space station infested with the X parasite. Because the Metroid Prime trio occurred prior to the events of Metroid II, Fusion was the final title in the Metroid series until Metroid Dread.
