Octopath Traveler 2 is similar to the original Octopath Traveler in that it requires a reasonable amount of grinding for Exp and other resources in order to advance through the game’s narrative. In Octopath, leveling up your group is essential because it will make mid to late game material much more manageable for you. Here’s how you can level up in Octopath Traveler 2.
How to Level Up in Octopath Traveler 2
So far, the most consistent method to farm Exp has been to grind the highest level monsters your group can consistently defeat while utilizing a combination of character passive abilities to boost your basic Exp gain. There’s also the Thief’s “Life in the Darkness” trait, which boosts your Exp and Job Points (JP) at night. Scholar’s “Extra Experience” increases the Exp gained after a fight, which is useful for day farming. You can also add the Exp Augmentor accessory to increase the quantity of Exp you make even further, because every bit matters. It is critical to keep the character(s) you want to level living, as defeated characters do not earn Exp.
Hunting Caits will give you 1000 Exp without any bonuses for players who want to try their luck with rare monsters, though you will most likely have to use Cait Powder to improve your odds of locating one first, as they are deemed uncommon spawns. If you’re just beginning out, it’s best to use Soulstones to defeat them because they’ll run if you don’t kill them quickly enough. Soulstones inflict a lot of magical damage, so you can take the Cait down fast and reap the benefits. Overweight Caits, which are even uncommon than Caits, exist. They will grant you a whopping 2000 Exp if you beat them. If you come across any Octopuff Visitors, beat them for 500 Exp.
