Hogwarts Legacy is set to be a popular publication in 2023, but it has also sparked some controversy since its introduction, mostly due to author JK Rowling’s transphobic beliefs. To add to the plethora of bad news about the game, pre-orders are mysteriously disappearing – Rowling isn’t the only one getting canceled. With little over a month until the game’s release, this is not a good omen for the game’s debut, and many buyers have expressed their dissatisfaction with these occurrences.
In recent days, every post on the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter page has been met with complaints about how some players’ pre-orders have been canceled. Those who want to purchase the game on PlayStation platforms have already felt the pain of this when they got letters asking them to change their pre-order option. Those who did not answer by December 20 had their pre-orders automatically refunded.
A similar problem is now affecting customers who intend to buy the game on Xbox. Fortunately for these customers, Warner Bros. Games Support is well aware of the problem and has clarified why this has been happening in a Twitter message. The cancellations were caused by a delay in the Xbox One version of the game, which is included in the Xbox Series X|S Digital Deluxe Edition. According to the support website, individuals impacted should have received an email informing them of the delay. The next-gen and PC versions of Hogwarts Legacy will still be released in February, while the last-gen editions will be released in April.
