Genshin Impact Expands Genius Invokation TCG with Replay Feature, Enhanced PvE and PVP Options in Version 3.4

HoYoverse, the makers of Genshin Impact, announced the strategy for extending The Genius Invokation TCG mode, which is a fully realized trading card game, in a recent developer discussion. The company has released a list of fan-requested additions that will be introduced to the mode in Version 3.4 and future upgrades.

HoYoverse revealed that with each new Version update, they would continue to release new cards to The Genius Invokation TCG mode. A new, more informal PvP mode is also on the way, presumably to make the game easier, and more information about it will be disclosed at the next Version 3.4 Special Program Stream on January 6.

The dev discussion also indicated that more features, such as new challenges involving NPC characters and other challenges, would be added to the PvE mode. HoYoverse claimed that PvE is the “primary priority” of the development team, implying that more NPC combat would be introduced with each new Version release. As the company wants to balance cards continually through future updates, the balance tweaks may also be targeted towards PvE combat.

Another confirmed feature for The Genius Invokation TCG mode is replay. Players that had an interesting match or wish to examine their own plays will be able to replay/review previous matches in-game without needing to record them. HoYoverse has said that the replay function is already in the works, but no release date has been specified. In Version 3.4, players will also gain a “Duel Details Log” option to assist them keep track of played cards and controller improvements.
