EA Cancels Titanfall/Apex Legends Single-Player Game: Report

Titanfall 3 is no longer being developed by EA as a secret apex legends single player game.
According to reports, Electronic Arts has scrapped a single-player game centered in the Apex Legends and Titanfall universes.

According to Bloomberg, three people familiar with the situation said EA shelved the project, codenamed TFL or Titanfall Legends, that was under development at Apex Legends creator Respawn Entertainment. There were around 50 workers on the team working on this game, and EA will apparently try to find jobs for these staff elsewhere inside the firm. According to Bloomberg, if roles cannot be filled, some employees may be let off with severance pay.

According to the report, Mohammad Alavi (Titanfall 2, Apex Legends creator) was supposed to oversee the now-cancelled game, but he departed the firm in 2022.

This shelved single-player game set in the Apex Legends and Titanfall world was most likely the one alluded to in job advertising in July that referred to the game as a “Apex Universe FPS Incubation Title.”

This cancellation comes shortly after EA announced the closure of Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile, as well as the closure of the latter’s creator, Industrial Toys. In addition, EA stated in the same financial results that it was closing down these games that Respawn’s next single-player Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, had been postponed until April.
