Creating your own dwarven stronghold in Dwarf Fortress is a fun and rewarding experience once you get passed the initial challenge. However, mistakes will undoubtedly be made along the way, particularly if you’re just starting out. Fortunately, these mistakes can be corrected with the easy click of a button. If you’re pondering how to remove building in the game, here’s everything you need to know.
How to Remove Dwarf Castle Walls and Floors
To delete building in Dwarf Fortress, you must first open the digging commands interface. You can do this by tapping on the Pickaxe icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your computer, or by hitting the “M” key. Select the steps symbol with a red circle once it’s open.
After you’ve chosen it, you’ll be able to color the region you want to mark for removal. Keep in mind that this will only work for things like steps, walls, and other built-in tiles. If you want to remove a particular structure, you must follow a totally different, albeit easier, procedure.
How to Destroy Dwarf Fortress Structures
In Dwarf Fortress, you can delete structures by clicking on them and then choosing the symbol on the upper right of the window that appears. The icon you’re searching for is a home with a red circle on it, and selecting it will remove the structure you’ve chosen. Keep in mind that once it’s gone, you won’t be able to reclaim the resources you used to build it. With this in mind, we advise using this function with care.
